What is Anxiety?
is your body's natural response to stress. It's a feeling of fear or apprehension about what's to come. This can stem from a new job, a first day at school of fight or flight situations.
However, when this becomes a norm an individual can be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder which is a mental health issue.
There are a number of ways that one can naturally relieve anxiety:
Regular exercise isn’t just about physical health — it can be a huge help to your mental health. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), regular exercise leads to an enhancement of concentration and willpower, which can help certain anxiety symptoms.
Get enough rest.
Rest is vital for better mental health, increased concentration and memory, a healthier immune system, reduced stress, improved mood and even a better metabolism. Rest can be physical, emotional, sensory, creative or emotional. It is important to find ways of shutting out and plugging off fron normal day to day as this reduces stress and anxiety.
Meditate and practice mindfulness.
Meditation is known to relieve stress and anxiety.
A main goal of meditation is full awareness of the present moment, which includes noticing all thoughts in a nonjudgmental way. This can lead to a sense of calm and contentment by increasing your ability to mindfully tolerate all thoughts and feelings. 30 minutes of daily meditation may alleviate some anxiety symptoms and act as an antidepressant
Eat a balanced diet.
The food you eat affects your gut. Low blood sugar levels, dehydration, or chemicals in processed foods, such as artificial flavorings, artificial coloring, and preservatives, may cause mood changes in some people. Hence the importance of eating a healthy diet to avoid anxiety triggers.
