Did someone say protein? 

We are all aware from our elementary school days that proteins are good for our health, but which exactly are these sources of proteins?

Here's a list of animal and plant protein sources for you:

SeaFood.

Seafoods consists of any  sea animals that are food to man, from salmon to shark. Seafoods are  not only rich in proteins but also rich in omega-3 Fatty acids, a win-win situation if you asked me.

Milk, Cheese, Eggs and Yogurt.

Not only are dairy foods like milk, cheese, and yogurt excellent sources of protein, but they also contain valuable calcium, and many are fortified with vitamin D. Eggs  on the other hand are one of the least expensive forms of protein. They containebetaine and choline which are good for the heart. It is recommended  to eat atleast  one egg a day as it reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Beans.

One-half cup of beans contains as much plant-based protein as an ounce of broiled steak. Plus, these nutritious nuggets are inexpensive and loaded with fiber to keep you feeling full for hours.

Tofu, Tempeh and Edamame.

Tofu, tempeh, and edamame all originate from soybeans. Soybeans are considered a whole source of protein. This means that they provide your body all the essential amino acids it needs.

Lentils.

With 18 grams of protein per cooked cup (198 grams), lentils are a great source of protein. They can be used in a variety of dishes, ranging from fresh salads to hearty soups . Lentils are also a great source of fiber, providing over half of your recommended daily fiber intake in a single cup (198 grams) Furthermore, the type of fiber found in lentils has been shown to feed the good bacteria in your colon, which can help promote a healthy gut.
